Eleven members of the MD Class of 2022 recently learned where they would be serving their residencies within the armed forces.

Military physicians provide healthcare services to military personnel and their families. They work in a variety of settings, including military hospitals, hospital ships as well as international medical centers. They may also participate in humanitarian efforts, caring for victims of natural disasters.

鈥淎t EVMS, we encourage students to engage in activities that serve the community and have a positive impact on the lives of the people around us,鈥 says Alfred Abuhamad, MD, interim President, Provost, and Dean of the EVMS School of Medicine. 鈥淚 can think of no greater community service than defending our nation and providing care to those who confront danger on this country鈥檚 behalf.鈥
