The Master of Healthcare Administration curriculum is designed to cover all Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) core competencies and to provide all students with a deep and broad understanding and appreciation of the healthcare system and healthcare management consistent with the program’s mission.
The mission of the Healthcare Administration master's program is to educate and train the next generation of healthcare managers and leaders through excellence in competency-based education, faculty and student scholarship, and service-learning focused primarily on Hampton Roads and the surrounding regions.
The vision of the Healthcare Administration (M.H.A.) program is to be recognized as a Top 20 Graduate Healthcare Management Program in the nation by 2030.

The faculty utilizes a broad array of teaching methods in the development of competencies for students. These include lectures, both faculty-led and student-led discussions and analyses, panel discussions, small group activities, case studies, simulations, problem solving, student presentations, reflective papers, team projects and field-based experiences.
Graduation and employment data for the Healthcare Administration (M.H.A.) program will be available starting with the first graduating class in 2022.
