Dara Emami is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Batten College of Engineering and Technology, where he teaches engineering law with a focus on intellectual property, contracts, and regulatory issues relevant to engineers and technical managers. He is also a co-instructor for courses in patent law at Howard University School of Law.
Professor Emami is an Associate at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP, where his practice centers on patent litigation and prosecution, including matters before the International Trade Commission, district courts, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, across a range of technologies such as automotive, unmanned, and robotic systems. Prior to entering the legal profession, he worked as a mechanical engineer and project manager supporting advanced manufacturing initiatives in shipbuilding.
